Marriott International: The Hemingway Club

Marriott International asked WATO to organize a small and immersive Prohibition-themed event for 120 employees: The Hemingway Club.

The event featured:

  • An actor welcoming guests in the parking lot
  • An immersive theatrical trail including a crook, a corrupt police officer and a gangster speakeasy owner
  • Fake banknotes given out to guests
  • Goodies for guests: feather headbands, fake moustaches, hats, pearl necklaces
  • Whisky tasting
  • A temporary tattoo stall
  • A casino game (roulette) with fake dollar bills
  • A performance by an opera singer
  • A close-up show by a burlesque dancer
  • A mugshot photo backdrop
  • A French-American swing band
  • “Roaring Twenties”-inspired scenography
